Once the poor and homeless people that visit the community kitchens and temporary shelters, where donated clothes could also be distributed, they could be segregated as handicapped, jobless, old and children in a database from which the govt could then work toward rehabilitating and assisting them as required. A Fund could be set up in the PM's name to collect donations that would be directed to help this cause and corporate houses, NGO's should together assist in the rehabilitation.

Invite nationwide participation of charitable institutions, corporate houses & celebrities to assist in ridding our nation of beggars especially in our cities. The setting up of Community Kitchens run by Gurdwaras and other charitable institutions, financed by govt and corporations; and shelters where the extremely poor can bathe, wash clothes and get soap could help bring them together so as to identify them and their needs based on if they are handicapped, jobless, old or children.

Some beggars have real need, some do it as business. Build "Beggars Colonies" (or give better name) within 100km from cities, with land available for farming, and give authority to police to move all beggars in such colonies.

and begging for food. Same case many elders who are not taken care in the family or those who have deceases are left out. The Government should take enough steps to ensure no such people are there.

Dear Sir, Finding the reasons for beggary... Main thing is that they dont get the basics of life. Food/shelter. If these are available then there wont be any beggary. But this will lazy down the people. So job for all, and we cant expect the youngers and elders strive to live. Government can extend monetary help to all families to have a proper living. And we have lots more social organizations that do take care of left ones. we are seeing lots of mentally disabled people roaming over the street

There is no Wealth Tax for Charitable & Religious institutions. These assets are mostly held as cash, gold & properties. Gov has no details or control of assets held by them.Only the managements of these institutions are enjoying the wealth. It is high time for the Govt to interfere and bring these institutions in tax net. The tax can be used for some specific social cause. There would be some murmur in the beginning, but could be explained. After all it is the offerings made by faithful devotees.

Agriculture income is exempt under IT Act. Constitution gives exclusive power to make laws on agri. income to State Legislature. However many States are not imposing Tax on Agri. Income on political considerations. There is also no wealth Tax on Agriculture property. Many wealthy people who own extensive agriculture land do not pay any Income tax. This facility is also misused by for money laundering. On account of this huge revenue is lost to Government. There should be some rethinking on this.
