However passengers tend to carry inflammable and dangerous materials like firecrackers, petroleum products, explosives etc., resulting in fire accidents and loss of human life.

Suggest solutions for reducing fire accidents due to carrying of inflammable materials by passengers.

it is better to deploy the on board police force to monitor and to prevent the carrying of inflammable material which also reduces the theft and safety to passengers.

Number of emergency windows should be increased which opens as soon as the safety alarm goes off. Also we should enable doors that open by itself in such cases. We can avoid a stampede in case of any adversity and can ensure that maximum people get out safely. I have jotted down too many points here and while I know most of them are very ambitious and may need a lot of resources, I know the only people who would pay heed to them are you. All the best Sir.

Smoke detectors should be installed in the entire train. This would have two benefits. In case of a fire people would be alerted quickly and at the same time smokers would have to give up on their habit atleast during the duration of the journey since they might end up triggering the alarm system.

As a government initiative we can go away using gas cylinders in the pantry cars and use induction cook-tops for cooking meals in the train. The roof of the train can be fitted with solar panels since the weather for a good time of the year in our country is Summer and we can use all that sun shine to power the trains energy needs.

I am probably deviating from the topic here but this is an important issue for general public safety. I have seen people scampering on the doorways to charge their devices on the single charging point that is available in the Sleeper and General compartments. Multitude of people pushing and shoving there can someday result in someone falling off the train which would be very unfortunate. Kindly see that sufficient plug points are provided in all coaches to ensure that no such incident happens.

What also needs to be done is improve the quality of electrical equipment in the train which i am sorry to say is very shoddy. Plug points wont work and I have seen people carrying extension equipment so that at-least their family can charge their devices in peace. This action may lead into additional load on the point and can cause short circuit as well.

Dear sirs, As a part of modernization of railways I would like to suggest that we implement a luggage scanning system vis a vis the Airports. All the luggage should be scanned and checked for any substance they can pose a threat to the train and the passengers. A luggage compartment should be added and the heavy luggage should be shifted there which is given back to the passengers at the destination station.
