The Sun has been worshipped as a life-giver to our planet since ancient times. India has a vast solar energy potential. The PM Suryaghar: Muft Bijli Yojana aims to integrate the use of solar energy in our everyday lives through the recently launched Rooftop Solar (RTS) Programme. With an initial target of covering one crore households, the scheme will enable beneficiaries to generate up to 300 units of electricity per month through solar panels. The beneficiaries can also avail subsidy up to ₹78000.
To raise awareness of the scheme, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in collaboration with MyGov is organizing “PM SURYA GHAR MUFT BIJLI YOJANA Selfie Contest”. The contest invites citizens to become advocates of sustainable development, using selfies as a medium to convey their ideas and messages about adopting solar energy in their lives.
Steps to Participate:
1.Click a selfie based on the best representation of the theme.

3.Post your selfie and use the hashtag #PMSuryaGhar tagging PM Suryaghar handles
4.Submit your selfie on MyGov portal
Technical Parameters:
1.Only one selfie to be submitted.
2..JPG format only (not exceeding 4 MB).
3.The file should be of high resolution- at least 1000 pixels per inch at 100% size. The file should not be pixilated or bit-mapped. It should look clean. It should be submitted in a compressed or self-extracting format.
4.Along with the photo, participants are requested to submit a brief description of the photo and the innovative/ unique idea that the selfie depicts as well as the social media links where it has been posted. (maximum 200 words)
Gratification:
1.The best selfie will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15,000.
