Kakinada city is the headquarters of East Godavari District. It is one of the fastest developing cities in Andhra Pradesh with a population of 3,25,985 (as per 2011 census). It is the 4th largest city by area and 7th largest by population in Andhra Pradesh. Kakinada over’s an area of 31.69 sq.km. It is located at 16.930N 82.220E.The 82-degrees east longitude passes through the city. Population Density within the city is 10,287(as per 2011 census). Kakinada has a tropical savanna climate with hot, humid weather most of the year. The average annual rainfall in the area is 1186 mm. Kakinada is the base for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s Eastern Offshore Asset. According to 2011 census, literacy rate of the city is 81%.Kakinada city has a diversified economic base. The pillars of the city’s economy are ports, marine, education, tourism, administration and trade, and commerce and industrial sectors.
Under Smart city project Kakinada Smart City Corporation Limited (KSCCL) has initiated a competition involving citizens in the design of Area based development such as Streets, Junctions and Parks etc.
The participants have to design and give the desirable situation. The design will be assessed by KSCCL on its do ability and innovation. The participants of the competition can be from any walk of life and may include citizens, students, technical experts, teachers and others.

Prizes: The top three competitors will be awarded the First, Second and Third prizes respectively as follows:
(1) First Prize : Rs.1,00,000
(2) Second Prize : Rs.25,000
(3) Third Prize : Rs.15,000
(4) Consolation Prizes: 2 in No.(Rs.10,000 each)
The prizes will be announced on MyGov. And the winning entries will be showcased on MyGov as well as the website/s
The participants should submit their reports by 25th August, 2016 by uploading the reports
on www.mygov.in

Kakinada is One of the fastest growing cities in AP.Ground water level at most of the places in the city is at alarming level. It is quite essential to recharge the ground water, in rainy season to keep the city away from drinking water shortage in summer.Government bodies need to construct rain water harvesting pits at all the major parks, should make it compulsory for all the newly build homes,Apartments and commercials Bldgs to have rain water harvesting pits to collect water during rains.

Each and every city can be a smart city if it follows the following things,We have to make sure that 33% of the city is filled with greenary, this part shouldnt be disturbed. the rest 67% is the part we should devolop. We need to think in a prespective which does wonders with less income. A good roadway link with the neighbouring cities will help in better establishment of the trade.You can have a look at the pdf for more info and better insight.

The Smart city should have smart connection. Smarty city should be connected to daily commuters, Tourist, Railways, Public safety authorities, shipping ports, Airport, Freight carriers and to government dept.. If all this get connected it will make the city more safer, efficient and more mobile world. With leading technology you will connect the machine. Smart city should have smart building, Complex & smart infrastructures this should have were the energy should be provided form geothermal power from renewal energy from earth. All the flats should be connected with optic fiber & with internet connection & should be interlinked with each flat with video door camera .Waste should be collected by underground gas system. The Smart city should have Bio Gas station & the Bio gas can be extracted from Human Waste for this the main drainage should be used to collect the bio gas which is released from human waste and thus the Bio Gas can be used to generate electricity and this bio gas can also be used as fuel in vehicle similar to that of CNG and LPG and it can also be used as cooking gas.
