Innovative Traffic Island Design Catalogue Competition-2016/17
for Students/Professionals/any Citizen of Surat
Design brief
Under the theme of Beautification of Surat City, Surat Municipal Corporation is hosting a competition for developing design catalogue for beautifying various traffic islands of Surat city.
Such design competitions can bring outcomes which may create great image of the city.
Design should be done for following three types of traffic rotaries (islands):
Type-A: Junction of 6-18 mt. wide road (refer contest drawing)
Type-B: Junction of 18-36 mt. wide road (refer contest drawing)
Type-C: Junction of more than 45 mt. wide road (refer contest drawing)
Points to be considered:
1.Participants can participate solely or in a group (Specify each group member’s name). Participants may send in multiple entries.
2.Drawings (Layout Plan, Landscape Plan, Sections & any other related detailing) in maximum 01 Nos. of A3 size PDF
3.There is no limitation in designing the traffic island.
4.Design should follow 75-25 ratio (75% Green and 25% Hard- Pavers/Stone/R.C.C. as per design)
5.Concept write up is not mandatory and if given, not more than 200 words.
6.Follow the attached policy while designing.
7.Visibility must not be blocked while driving.
Main components:
1.Prepare and submit best drawings for the design of traffic island.
2.Make sure that the design must not be so expensive to construct.
3.Design must not hurt any religious feelings.
4.Design must be such that it requires least maintenance.
5.Design must be yours and not be copied or taken directly from anywhere.
6.Design must be based on some theme.
Prize:
1). Selected 100 designs will receive prize of Rs. 500/-
2). Rs. 5000/- prize will be given to the respective designer at the time of execution
3). Winners must have to submit their identity and residential proofs.

3)All entries must be submitted on the MyGov.in website
4)If participants would have to submit design in physical format they must submit their design in the office of the Executive Engineer, garden Project Cell, Gandhi Baug, Chowk, Surat Municipal Corporation on or before 16/01/2017
