I've seen a lot of photos where people don't have enough money and hence they throw the whole body in the river. For these people special electric crematorium must be built where cremation should be done free of cost. Second of all, railings should be built on ghats so that no animal goes to the deeper part of the river and hence die. Thirdly, there should be a huge fine for polluting the rivers. There can also be plants set up for factory waste to be treated before releasing in the river.

The cultural attachment of River Ganga attracts many Bhakts.Major challenge is to retain the pious religious sentiments along with cleaning Ganga. How? Here is the solution: We can make different artificial cisterns(pools) in which Ganga Jal(Water of Ganga) is filled where adorers & bhaktas can have Ganga Snan, or can tribute flowers and Diyas, rather than directly offering to main river. This way, after some days the same organic waste from pools can be collected & can be used to make manure!

The best way to treat waste water mixed with Industrial chemicals, effluents, sewage etc is to: - 1. Let it evaporate, that is natures way to clean water. 2. Grow water hyacinth. These are sturdy plants that grow on dirty water and increases the rate of evaporation. 3. Use of biological method like enzymes and micro organisms to break down complex chemicals in waste water.

Let's get one thing straight that we don't have to "clean" Ganga, we just have to make sure that we stop polluting it any further, Ganga will clean itself pretty soon. The biggest hazard is not bio-degradable waste but non-bio-degradable waste like plastics, Industrial chemical and affluents, it's the latter than needs to be channelized away from Ganga & Yamuna into a reservoir and treated, the river eco system is strong enough to deal with bio degradable waste by itself.
