On the occasion of 155th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti (GSDS) in collaboration with MyGov is organizing a “Essay Writing Competition as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi” in Hindi and English on different ideas of Mahatma Gandhi.

Proposed Subjects for Essay Writing is as follows:
1. “Gandhi's Vision of Non-Violence in the Modern World”: How Gandhian principles of non-violence (Ahimsa) can be applied to contemporary conflicts and social issues.
2. “Mahatma Gandhi and Climate Change: Lessons for Today”: Exploring how Gandhi's ideas of simple living and sustainability are relevant in the fight against climate change.
3. “The Relevance of Gandhi's Philosophy in Digital Activism”: Analyzing how Gandhi's principles of peaceful protest and civil disobedience can be adapted to online activism and digital movements.
4. “Mahatma Gandhi’s Role in Promoting Gender Equality”: Reflecting on Gandhi's thoughts and actions for women's rights and how they inspire today's gender equality movements.
5. “Gandhi and Youth Empowerment: A Modern Perspective”: How Gandhi’s focus on youth participation in the independence movement can inspire today's youth to take active roles in social change.
6. “Gandhi’s Approach to Conflict Resolution: Its Relevance to International Relations Today”: How Gandhian methods of dialogue and negotiation can help resolve current global conflicts.
7. “Gandhian Economics in the Age of Consumerism”: Understanding Gandhi's critique of materialism and how his ideas could address the issues of modern consumerism and economic inequality.
8. “Digital Satyagraha: Applying Gandhi's Tactics in the Age of Social Media”: Examining how non-violent resistance could be conducted in the digital era using social media platforms.
