As per current provisions of the Companies Act, the unpaid and unclaimed amount pertaining to dividend, matured deposits, matured debentures and share application money not allotted and due for refund are available with the respective companies up to 7 years from the date of declaration of the dividend. The investor may claim the amounts during this period from the companies. However, this money is required to be transferred to Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) after expiry of seven years and current provisions do not permit claim of these amounts after transfer to IEPF.
As on date, more than 1000 crores have been deposited under this Head.
The Companies Act, 2013 provides for refund of such amounts even after transfer to IEPF. An IEPF Authority is required to be set up for discharging, monitoring and reviewing the process of refund. This Authority shall also undertake Investor Awareness Programme for awareness of common investors.
Since, Authority will be established for the first time, a concerted publicity campaign needs to be undertaken to inform all about the activities of this Authority.
To give higher visibility to the proposed IEPF Authority, public is invited to suggest logo the IEPF Authority.
The last date of submission is 30th December, 2014.
The best two entries will be awarded a cash prize of:
1. First Prize: Rs.25,000
