Economic Development Board : A Brief Background
1. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has set itself an ambitious vision to place Andhra Pradesh amongst the top three States in the country in terms of per capita income by 2022 and the top most State by 2029. In this regard, the Government is setting up a new institution “Economic Development Board (EDB)” to enable the state to fulfil its vision.
2. The broad mandate of EDB is to:
a. Undertake strategic planning, provide policy inputs, conduct policy reviews and provide analytical support to departments for accelerated development of state’s industrial and services sectors along with necessary infrastructure and skill sets
b. Serve as one-stop institutional platform for all industrial, infrastructural and financial investor and coordinate inter-governmental collaborations
c. Assist the State Government in the approval process of PPP Projects and Mega Industrial Projects by undertaking a uniform appraisal of the investments
d. Mobilize internal and external resources and assist the State Government in structuring and setting up various Special Purpose Vehicles as deemed necessary.
3. Overall, the EDB will be the nerve-centre and pulsating engine for driving the accelerated economic development of the State, working in close coordination and collaboration with the government, private sector, research and knowledge centres, financial institutions, from across the globe. The Board will provide strategic leadership, guidance and supervision for the development and effective execution of integrated and comprehensive policies and programmes essential for the accelerated development that would enable the State to translate its vision into reality.
Citizens of India are invited to design a suitable logo for the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Andhra Pradesh.
The winning entry will be awarded a prize of Rs 50,000 and a certificate of appreciation. While normally we expect to declare a single winner, in case, multiple entries are chosen as winners, the prize money will be split amongst the winners in shares as decided by Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The second and third entries will also receive a certificate of appreciation.
Last Date for submission is 25th July, 2015.
The results are expected to be announced by 10th August 2015.
