The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Mining requires proper database in Govt. hand on resource figures. All the ills of mining and oil and gas industry in India is due to Govt. not maintaining database in lines of Australia and Canada on Resouces and Geology. So I suggest a i) National database with quarterly updating, ii) Single window clearance, iii) Well defined royalty structure, iv) Land acquisition for projects by state govt. (single national compensation scheme), v) Local youth recruitment through skill training & local devp

I wish to strongly state our Armed Forces are the most shining example of skill development and therefore they have the appropriate infrastructure which can be replicated to impart skills to JUST ORDINARY YOUNG INDIANS. The three services provides each and every skill be it technical or non technical to provide services to the forces.the core of any skill is DISCIPLINE the specific skill and technique comes later and it is easier to acquire when discipline is imbibed. Think about it.

Indian Railways ought to follow path of proactive expansion and this initiative must be well-grounded in human capacity building for future growth its services. Showing surplus and making money through premium tatkal schemes are in conflict with its societal goals and very un-innovative given the fact that it is a service provider that enjoys monopoly. I hope more innovative services will be launched with a view to tapping opportunities attendant to a nation of over billion people.

it is very nice to hear that atlast gujrat become first state to implement compulsory voting and it is also very joking that people deny it to making intrudation in our civil right. we should not forget that for democracy our main duty is voting to run and if feel it wrong live in china or some dictatoral country need not to vote but have no right. even if their is NOA choice criticising is meaningless.
