Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

Growing use of loudspeakers in the schools, colleges,religious places, marriage lawns is creating lot of Noise pollution which is a serious issue in several posh areas... Therefore, certain strict standards should be implemented for the usage of loudspeaks and the maxium volume at which it is to be played

i think wide roads across the city new areas and old city ( assi to visesar ganj) should be clean and left alone with its natural beauty.. a cleaner varanasi with all L.E.D street lights with solar panels lavatories on ghats for tourist aware peoples about to use them are key factors

1.गलियों की मार्ग व्यवस्था को सुधार कर उसका निरेन्तर रखरखाव की समुचित व्यवस्था आवश्यक है । 2. घाटों की सफाई के बाद उनके निरंतर साफ रखना सुनिश्चित किया जाए इसके लिए जनभागीदारी के लिए प्ररित करना उचित होगा । 3. जनता अथवा संस्था अथवा शासन प्रशासन द्वारा कराया जाने वाला किसी भी प्रकार का निर्माण केवल निर्धारित मापदण्डों के साथ योजनबद्ध तरीके से ही होना सुनिश्चित करना होगा ।

Solid waste management.... We are living in 21st century nd still depended on free plots in coloney for disposal of our household waste.. Its a big hurdle in swacch bharat abhiyan.... People wants to keep there neighbour clean but what did they do if they dindnt get propal place or facility for disposal of their waste..
