Train running status information is made available to passengers through website enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/ntes/, mobile applications, SMS and IVRS at 139.Suggest solutions for ...
Indian Railway should give sms updates, reminders to all passengers about their train journey, status, delays etc. for those who submitted their mobile no during ticket counter and done online ticket. It is similar to like air lines. We get all the updates and reminders through email and messages on phone.
All the railway lines, routes need to be covered with mobile signals (including 3G) including every remote areas. So that passenger can use their mobile internet through NTES app for any train inquiry. Currently the mobile signal normally available near to a station. Also messages to 139 should be free of cost. This 139 messaging support all type of information. Currently people prefer to use NTES mobile app rather than sending sms to 139. Sometimes we don't get full signal inside AC bogie.
In my opinion train running status information system of the railways is state of the art, very efficient, good and adequate. Marginal improvements / refinement is always possible and must be carried out as per experience gained. A scroll of only the trains that are running late will be very useful information for all passengers
train enquiry should be a toll free number and the website of train enquiry should be very user friendly.
RAJDHANI EXP.DELAYED by 7Hrs due to FOG...! What happens in other countries where winters are more severe!
I think there is huge scope of research to somehow eliminate this...
go from basic. Double the number of trains, double the seats. Use digital technology to provide info.Make inquiry website(not promotional). Mobile APP, Real time train tracking. These techs are available, Just organize and promote it properly. Make everything available on single screen. Put these screens everywhere on railway station apart from internet and mobile. Make the search engines more powerful.
i think instead of 139 calling a menu based messaging(like ussd service) will be more easy, time saving &useful for train enquiry
no one works for country not everyone some people works for salary thats it . motivation for every employee should be provided to provide better information . n 2 . people will change by our response here chnge starts n young stars required to understand it
I think NTES is better now, I followed SIMRIN, system developed by IIT, it was very good, don't konw later on what happened, that project was discontinued.
If possible, try to emulate SIMRIN system.
internet sites are very good for searching but our 139 system is very poor. So many options we want but check whether we can incorporate in 139 system.1)Running status-if I am giving the train number I want to know where the train now. 2) I will give source and destination and need to know with in 2 or 4 hours what all trains are there
