Train Enquiry System

Start Date :
Jan 01, 2015
Last Date :
Jul 17, 2015
04:15 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Train running status information is made available to passengers through website enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/ntes/, mobile applications, SMS and IVRS at 139.Suggest solutions for ...
1. In Metro cities we have scarcity of land. Can we not invite corporate houses to develop railway stations infrastructure and in turn can build and use 3rd 4th floors for mall , multiplex . I believe it is a win win situation for everyone.
2. Railways can place solar panels over station building , bridges , b/w rails , over trains and where not... The electricity produced through it could help in cutting cost ( indirect non-fare revenue).
train enquiry system of Indian railway is very poor. most of the times they didn't pick up the calls when someone tries to call them. I think the Indian railway should outsource the complete information system to some private company like the BPO companies and should immediately remove the people who are employed for the same job so that the cost involved in the system should be spent to the BPO companies who can deliver better defined and accountability services to the people.
Train inquiry kiosks in ample quantity should be placed on railway platform. This will have facility to know train between stations status within 1 hr to 4hr,fare chart,PNR status, which train on which platform etc.Capcha should be removed for checking PNR status on mobile app.139 charge is not affordable for poor people so one other free no like 1139 with advertise of sponsor with 30 second ad time for train inquiry.Train inquiry system control room with every basic languages of India.
I have seen Indian railway are planning to install solar energy at top of the railway station, as a green energy. Really appreciate the concept. I have some other idea please install the wind turbine(smaller size) or solar plate on the top of the train. Definite will create windmill/solar energy to produce electric green energy.

Ministry of Railways is suggested to introduce a toll free number for the passangers for rail inquiry. It will provide information regarding the available trains and the current status of any particular train. The number should be accessible to all service providers irrespective of GSM and CDMA.Many people in villages are deprived of internet system.Hence they are unable to have information from websites.Toll free number will help them too much.
Indian Railway should create an mobile app which enables us to check train schedule, train status, PNR status from 1 mobile app
1. an app should be developed for the information on railways 2. SMS based enquiry should be strengthened.
There should be an online + sms based enquiry system in which realtime updates can be provided. Many people are not aware of how to use SMS based enquiry. There should be help for that on every ticket. Besides this real time updates should be very acurate. Another system should be that 1 hr before the train takes to reach the station of your boarding you should get the sms that should be real time based not based on the time printed on your ticket
Please ASAP fit all trains with Bio Toilets.. to avoid milions of peolpe being forced to defecate in open air.. (finally the feces fall on open tracks..)
ntes app is excellent...works perfectly. thanks CRIS for the app
pls include pnr enquiry and the app will become even better
