Handloom products constitute an integral part of the India’s heritage and culture. Showcasing various vibrant aspects of the cultural heritage of India, the handloom sector provides employment, directly and indirectly to over 43 lakh handloom weavers, belonging to socially and economically weaker sections of the society particularly in the rural areas.

Varanasi has a rich cultural heritage and Banaras silk sarees and crafts are an integral part of the Indian landscape. Varanasi handloom makes India proud of its heritage. The handloom and handicraft products of Varanasi have got wide recognition all over the country and abroad for their highly artistic design, colour combination, superior craftsmanship and long durability.

Keeping in view the vision of making the handloom and handicraft industry of Varanasi and neighbouring areas, market oriented and for generating productive employment, the Government of India is setting up of a Trade Facilitation Centre and a Crafts Museum to develop and promote the handlooms, handicrafts and silk products of Varanasi and to provide necessary help to weavers, artisans and entrepreneurs of Varanasi for boosting their marketing activities in domestic as well as international markets and carry forward the rich tradition of handlooms at Varanasi.Hon’ble Prime Minister of India laid foundation stone of Trade Facilitation Centre and a Crafts Museum on 7th November 2014 at BadaLalpur, Varanasi.

Your valuable views and opinion is sought on the concept and facilities/services to be provided in the Trade Facilitation Centre and the Crafts Museum at Varanasi.

Regarding Trade Facilitation Center and Crafts Museum at Varanasi is a good initiative. There is need of involvement of common public of Varanasi.Once handicraft business would start it is providing huge employment to common public.I suggest for marketing purpose we can use Maa Ganga handicraft Mela for upcoming Pilgrims.

These all facilities are good. But I want to talk about Land Acquisition Bill.I saw from so many days there so much controversy is happened. My suggestion is - Why this bill is divided in two separate part One is Basically purely Land Acquisition for Public Interest project like Irrigation,Railway,Highways, small scale industries and other infrastructure. And another one land Acquisition for purely for Big Industrial corridor and big Business Houses. So,it will remove confusion of all.

I think u should do marketing of handicraft industry of varanasi in the world as well as in INDIA and try to increase its demand.you can also do make it a large industry it will also going to increase employment and make sure that its price should not be cheap because other wise will be no profits and no income of labours.high price will also make profit as well as good income of the labour and please don't think people is not going to buy it just because of high price, people wants quality.

On 26-4-15 in his speech Maan Ki baat Respected PM Mr Narendra Damodardas Modi emphasized on MAYLA MATHE PE DHONA (carrying dirt on head). The phrase was headline in each and every NEWS of the day. Is He really concern about this and made provisions of reservation in LOK SABHA, RAJYA SABHA, STATE VIDHAN SABHA, MILITARY etc etc etc ...... Such reservations are in place in other aspects of life. Respected PM Mr NARENDRA DAMODARDAS MODI SIR do you have explanation or just a speech.

Handloom products are best promoted by celebrities -- film stars and sports stars if they do it voluntarily for their country. I like Amir Khan for his efforts to promote and improve India. Let other artistes also join the campaign of "Develop India". Millions of Indians will follow them.
