We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Companies often do not know how, when, and what they must apply. Therefore, failure to comply with environmental regulations up to 70%, a staggering figure[26] most likely to confusion about the requirements, rather than the product of willful disregard of the law.

Urban development should not misappropriated as real estate development at any cost. This mentality should change in a smart city. Pasighat was known as a clean and green city until recently. Now it is just another hub of unchecked concrete growth. Smart city should encompass revamping of sewage facilities, efficient waste disposal, planting and taking care of trees & cleanliness of lakes. Stress should be laid upon widespread usage of solar & wind energy in domestic activities.

In addition, E-Government can help businesses navigate through government regulations by providing an intuitive site organization with a wealth of useful applications. The electronic filings of applications for environmental permits gives an example of it.

To achieve mission of Digital pasighat and Smart City, Information Technology is playing most important role. Every deptt. must be Digitized. This can be done by creating post of technical expert in IT Cadre like School Information Managers in edu. deptt. These managers are handling all online IT work of the deptt. So,there must be sanctioned post of Info. Manager in every school in IT cadre of deptt. and this kind of post should be created in all depths. also to streamline all IT work.

There should be a dust bins in all public places in Pasighat and it should also be made compulsory to have one in all fast food corners and open air restaurants, it will help to clean Pasighat. This cannot be achieved by awareness only but strict rule and punishment provision should be, and non follower should not be allowed to use any public, govt facility and subsidy.

Try to focus on basic problems which lead to other problems like - cleanliness, congestion, traffic, Govt. services. Do not try to solve the problems with a complex solution and follow the KISS (Keep It Simple). Cleanliness - install garbage bins, impose fine, sensitize people. Congestion - for new developments, make wide roads first then build city around it. Focus on green parks, play areas, breathing spaces at intervals. Even websites - keep them simple and functional instead of jazzy.

Redevelopment should also be a pan city concept. Areas should be identified at different locations and redeveloped as per requirement of the people and surroundings.

Our Pan city concept will benefit the most in smart city. E-government will all surely lessen the traffic and improve service delivery while saving precious time of the citizen
