We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Most of the problem about Pasighat people is they know so many thing, they also have sources to do that thing. But because of the poor technologies and their ignorance on the project which they had taken. If this thing will not on the Pasighat people mind, then Pasighat would be more than a smart city to call, or we can say that Pasighat should be the great smart city of the India.

Thanks Smart City team for making it a multi lingual discussion. It was really interesting to hear the discussion in Adi language. Please keep it up. MEO has rightly pointed out the people’s participation is of paramount importance. Ti is the people who will decide what kind of smart city they eveision. Every radio talk or discussion in a place like Pasighat which cosmopolitan in nature should be multi lingual. Smart city team has presented a smart discussion catering to all sections.

Very informative discussion. Need a repeat in local languages. Smart city concept has been presented very nicely in a nutshell. Moderator needs to improve. The concept of Pan city in the discussion highlighted the basics of e-governance. However some other components of e-governance like street lighting, roads etc have not been dwelt in detail. So need some more information on the mater.

Smart city discussion shows the Pasighat is becoming smarter even before advent of smart city. Telecom service providers must pull up their socks to cater to the coming demands of younger penetration who are digitally literate and full ideas. Smart city youth. If jansuvidha Kendra, NIC, e-arik, e-pds, sarathi, vaahan etc are properly maintained then we already have the right seeds of e-goverance. Thanks to the discussion.

It should have underground cabling be it in power, internet, cable TV ,fib re optic or any other utility cables or wires. Such an under ground cabling is another smart idea or dream for a city as it reduces thefts and pilferage and at the same time improves the aesthetics of the city. Also they are relatively easy to maintain and remain less vulnerable during strong winds and inclement weather.

A smart city a place must have big schools, colleges, universities etc.For that the people should be highly educated qualified and knowledgeable. Schools are to be building in such a way that the children studying there should be highly educated and knowledgeable. And colleges and universities are important for smart city because after completing high schools there should be a place for our graduation in our own place.

Smart city is a temporary endeavor having a defined beginning and end normally contained by data but can be by bounding or deliverables.Sebastian Nokes says that a project is undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives usually to bring about beneficial change or added value. The temporary nature of smart city stands in contrast to business as usual and its operations which are repetitive permanent or semi permanent functional work to produce product or services.
