The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), U.T, Chandigarh has taken serious cognizance of the increasing pollution levels in the airs of the city. Pollution occurs in many forms including Air, Water, Soil & Noise pollution.

The CPCC has expressed serious concern over the contamination of the overall environment as the sources of pollution don't simply have a negative impact on the natural world, but also have a measurable effect on the health of human beings also.

In this direction, the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee has decided to engage the citizens of the city for their invaluable suggestions/ideas/opinions/practical solutions to put a check on increasing levels of all types of pollution in Chandigarh.

The CPCC hereby appeals to the city residents to participate in huge number in order to equip the CPCC with more and more innovative and practical solutions/ideas (which are implementable) to curb the problems arising out of different kind of pollution.

POLLUTION CHECKING CENTERS NEED TO WORK HONESTLY. FAKE POLLUTION CERTIFICATES ARE ISSUED WITHOUT ANY TUNING OF ENGINE. THIS NEEDS TO BE CHECKED. THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT THE ROOFTOPS IN CHANDIGARH ARE TOTALLY VACANT AND UNUSED. EITHER WE CAN GROW SMALL PLANTS OR CAN COME UP WITH SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATIONS AND BE CONNECTED TO THE LOCAL GRID.

Respected Sir , we can solve the water crisis by desalination of water by external electric field and power crisis by withdrawing energy from the sun and air in order to supply 24 hour water and electric to every house. This technique can also be used to purify affluent water. We can also solve the problem of plastic pollution by synthesizing many bio-degradable polymers. . But you have to support us financially and publish these articles in Media. Please read all pdf files.

Encourage pedestrians and cycle/rickshaw users by creating wider pathways, water fountains and other street infrastructure around these paths etc. Create under bridges for pedestrian/bicycle crossings. Give incentives to Non motorized transport by subsidizing cost of cycles/rick. etc.Why subsidy only to kerosene/diesel etc. Give free smoke masks to cyclists. instead of 'No Smoking' tags every where, put 'No smoking cars' tags all around.

Create a Chandigarh Regional Development Authority to take care of in-migration, traffic, infra issues. Create a migration regulation and check cell to help migrants to resettle, slum improvement etc. No migrant should be allowed to squat in open or slum, the employers of these migrants should be held responsible for their stay. Car poolers should be given incentives like free parking pass etc.

Create a 'tree transplantation cell' in UT adm. It will document all the trees, protect them and will provide service for transplantation of trees on nominal charges as people kill the trees outside their homes/complexes just to create parking space or to avoid upkeep of floor due to droppings.

Juggi Vasudev has suggested that you should rename the country as Bharat because Bha represents bhav(emotion and feelings) Ra represents in harmony with nature and tha represents with senses. This will communicate and cement your vision that this country should not just grow for itself but help others by reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable lifestlyes--that is the leadership this country aspires for

My view is just a simple but time taking one. If Government just make a simple but strict law that whenever you buy a vehicle you need to buy or adopt a TREE. Now question is that where we can plant Trees. We can plant trees along Roadside near to our home or workplace. We does not need to break or erode roadside footpaths but can simply buy large Pots for plant. Government can also give subsidy and some burden of cash and maintenance can be taken by citizens.
