The Government of lndia has launched an ambitious "Smart Cities Mission" to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and a good quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment with the application of 'Smart' Solutions'. The Government of India have identified Warangal as one of the 100 cities to participate for the smart city challenge.

In this context, the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) is in the process of preparing the Smart City Proposal. The GWMC seeks valuable suggestions of the citizens to formulate the vision for the Smart City Warangal.

A strategic vision shapes a preferred future for a city. A successful vision has economic, spatial, social and environmental dimensions that reflect a city’s unique physical and cultural traits; it provides direction for the activities of the Corporation, citizens and stakeholders; and ensures that citizens, city agencies, and stakeholders are working towards those shared sub-goals. The vision statement should inspire our city’s residents and can even become the branding for our smart city.

The Smart City Advisory Forum of Warangal shall evaluate the vision statement and award the best three entries.

Hi.. The Indian government wants to roll out 'smart cities' but the planning and the doing will take many years. I have a suggestion for temporary measure to get electricity upgraded to smart,to as many people as possible (putting villages on the grid). Cyan Technology of Cambridge,UK and their Indian sub do a conversion of existing poles, lines, meters to SMART,reducing outages. Engaged by TATA POWER & ENZEN already they provide a low priced measure for a few years or possibly permanent.

Every city should consists of 1.Easy transportation, 2.sport and recreation centers, 3.Slum area Development, 4.Greenery, 5.Pollution control, 6.Public Security, 7.E-Governance. If these all are maintained, any city it may be it will surely becomes people's city. #SmartCity, #Warangal, #MyGov

The highways connecting major cities should be improvised as this could lead to better transportation of goods and it has potential of becoming a great dry port as it is centrally located. Also along with the state governments they should come up with more open spaces, parks , fountains and try to increase tourism.

The highways connecting major cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Vizag etc should be improvised as this could lead to better transportation of goods and it has potential of becoming a great dry port as it is centrally located. Also along with the state governments Haritha haram they should come up with more open spaces, parks , fountains and try to increase tourism.
