The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

Please provide your suggestions and feedback latest by 5th October 2015.

hi Being a Proud Citizen of mangalore , One of the first few things we need to do , would be to provide overhead walkways (Skybridges ) for people to cross roads at Major Junctions all over the City . It will not only lead to safer Pedestrian Movement , it will also Decongest Traffic at these junctions which are held up due to Pedestrians crossing roads Haphazardly ,as there is no path for them . #Smartcity #Mangaluru

Hello We need to consider developing Mangaluru in all aspects. Most importance needs to be given to developing the economic growth within the city. Our city having well educated citizens are currenty forced to move out of the city, closest being Bangalore, due to lack of opportunities within the city. Without better infrastructure and urban services like 24/7 water, 24/7 electricity etc MNC's would not invest in our city. And hence an overall comprehensive development of the city is crucial.
