The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

1. Setup solar panel system in the coast to get enough power to make the city self sufficient. 2. Mandate solan panel on every house/business establishment. 3. Setup industry area in a separate place, and ensure 100% pollution control system in place. 4. Setup 5 established parks and provide all basic amenities for citizens to spend time. 5. Encourage cycle riding and setup separate pathways for the same, within the city. 6. Connect Mangalore to Europe thru direct flights.

1. Give 24*7 water, power to all. 2. Plan for world class drainage system, waste management, sanitation process. 3. 100% health and education to all citizens. 4. Make Mangalore the top most beach-side tourist spot in the country. 5. Special provisions for differently abled people to live happily. 6. Best transport, roads & footpath in the entire city. 7. Electric monorail from Mangalore to all connecting suburbs like - Udupi, Belthangadi, Moodbidri & Uppinangadi.
