Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities which will be taken up for the first round of funding, for the financial year 2015-16.

Citizens and stakeholders of Coimbatore are requested to post their views and suggestions on how to make Coimbatore a Smart one. The citizens may organize their thoughts on the following topics

1. What should be the Vision of the Coimbatore
2. Strengths, areas of improvement & solutions across the following sectors

a. City Spatial Structure, Transportation and Green Spaces
b. Energy, Water, Waste Water and Environment
c. Housing, Health, Education, Security, Law and Order
d. Citizen Engagement, Smart Solutions and IT-led service delivery

Truck Terminal (Lorry Pettai) @ Vellalore Parks in every wards with children play area Shifting central Prison to outskirts. Creating a lung space @ that place. Shifting VOC zoo to spacious place. Cricket stadium with minimum capacity of 60,000 Sports city @ Chettipalayam ( already Kari racetrack and Golf club is there) Formation of CBE developemt authority

SEZ for small and medium size IT companies should be in prime location with good transport.The current sez locations in Coimbatore is lacking because of not having good transport frequently. So transport need to be improved for the sez locations across the city for further growth. Once we have the good transport to the sez locations,Coimbatore will see the boom in IT further.

Industrial Estate: New SIDCO and SIPCOT for the district. Cluster development for Foundries, Pump, Wet grinders, and Textile. Technical textile institutte startup village Cluster development for new age industries like IOT, Green energy, Robotics, Electronics

Now lot of small and medium size IT companies staring operations in Coimbatore. So separate Sez area should be created with limited restrictions. so that we can we can further increase IT companies presence in Coimbatore. Now many Small and medium size IT companies are unable to take the space in current IT Parks due to target in minimum space to be rented and with lot of restrictions.So separate Sez area for Small and medium size IT companies should be created for growth of the city.

1. Reduce congestion in transport systems. 2. Improve public safety by reducing crime and emergency response time. 3. Streamline and tailor services for the citizen, including a heavy emphasis on education and training. 4. Enable appropriate access to healthcare data for better quality of care, early disease detection and prevention.

Before our post, we should give a proper awarness about our samrt city to all people like school, college, corporate etc. then we can able to achive our project and give 100 % output.

Availability of Disabled and/or Senior citizen service i.e. special transportation services which such people in need can call for a pick up and drop at a subsidized rate.

The saving of energy is a key point which can be utilised for solar energy for street lamp and traffic signal....in Coimbatore the electricity bill is approx crores of rupees which can be reduced by using solar energy and money saved can be used for development of the city infrastructure.

Under ground cable system, which includes Electricity, Tele-Services, Private cables etc.,), should be made compulsory. No overhead cables should be permitted. It could be better managed if they are maintained jointly for all the groups by a single service provider.
