Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities which will be taken up for the first round of funding, for the financial year 2015-16.

Citizens and stakeholders of Coimbatore are requested to post their views and suggestions on how to make Coimbatore a Smart one. The citizens may organize their thoughts on the following topics

1. What should be the Vision of the Coimbatore
2. Strengths, areas of improvement & solutions across the following sectors

a. City Spatial Structure, Transportation and Green Spaces
b. Energy, Water, Waste Water and Environment
c. Housing, Health, Education, Security, Law and Order
d. Citizen Engagement, Smart Solutions and IT-led service delivery

Introduce single door policy for efficient and corruption free administration with the support of students...ex. If someone wants to give an application they can give in that counter the students will teach to apply after 24 hours in the same counter you can get the result.

Kindly introduce single door policy to avoid efficient administration and to avoid corruption with the participation of students in each location.....ex. If someone want to get some govt. Work anything small or big they can apply in that counter there students will be sitting to help or teach how to apply every day evening that application will go to the particular section with in 24 hours time public can get the results in the same counter.

All house and shops should have a garbage box in front for clean city. This should be provided by the corporation so people won't dumb garbage on others door.

Air conditioned buses along arterial routes within the city with facilities like wifi and city traffic information displayed inside.

#smartcity #coimbatore requires new parks, Integrated Bus Stand, MRTS, Widening of Thadagam road and NH 209, UG power cables instead of over head lines, Parking facilities to be increased, New Shopping destination, Shifting of Central Jail and utilize the area in GP to more amusement and entertainment, Outer ring road to ease of traffic, Fly overs at Ukkadam, Lakshmi mills to Hopes, Kavundampalayam to SB Kovil, Avarampalayam Railway Cross, Vilankurichi road at the earliest.

Less congested, more gardens and park, online government services for issuance of any certificate and payment of taxes, green initiatives for reducing pollution. More emphasis on public transport will make coimbatore a most preferred living place in tamilnadu.

HIGHEST PLAN PRIORITY FOR COIMBATORE TO BE A SMART CITY: 1)No city can become smart if it does not allocate 33 % of area under green cover Parks. -Playgrounds 10% under Water bodies like Ponds Man Made Lakes etc -30 % for Roads Bus depots Schools hospitals Promenades Bus stops senior Citizen clubs Amusement Parks Etc. -A Good sustainable CITY is one which devotes 33% of its Area for green (Parks Promenades Children's play zones Jogger Park.

There must be a firm Garbage disposable system throughout the city. We always get happy that we're aware citizens throwing our garbage in the dustbins, I guess, nobody can imagine a smart city without cleanliness. So please use your smartness first in developing a useful, strong and sound garbage disposing procedure for city. Placing dustbins at public places is also required.

Neat,Clean and green infrastructure is the backbone of a developing city and these things need to be taken into TOP MOST consideration while Coimbatore is proudly announced as one of smart city.
