(suggestions of my friend Dinesh). I think the whole smartcity project should not be given to cbe corporation ( as it is the most corrupt) it should be done by a seperate commissioner like election commissioner or CVC and they shd report to PM / CM
Reg development I think the drainage pipes in the roads shd be moved to both sides of the road so that they don't dig the roads in the Center of the road
2.bus stands shd be removed from /near signals seperate bay for parking buses

The Coimbatore Corporation should start door-to-door contact program to seek suggestions from citizens for the Smart City project. Also they should declare awards for best suggestions so that more citizens participate.

feel, apart from developing modern infra-structure and amenities, concerned authorities and people should concentrate more and take more efforts to develop and inculcate proper ‘CULTURE’ in people (mainly young generation) so that they become ‘Smart’ citizens eligible to enjoy Smart facilities.
Heavy Traffic : Public transport needs to be strong such as increase in buses in office & schools time so that individual vehicle may reduced.
2. Roads : Roads should be atleast 3 lane in every areas

Providing modern infrastructure is NOT the only meaning of Smart City.
If we look at today’s. Coimbatore , the urgent need is to change the CULTURE OF PEOPLE. My observations –
1. Young generation do not respect traffic rules / Signals which leads to undisciplined traffic and frequent jam.
2. Spitting on road is common habit.
3. Work Culture of Coimbatore People ( Particularly doing semi-skilled jobs like cleaning, garbage collector etc.never do the job carefully.)

Safe streets for everyone- any time/day/place
Prompt garbage pick up
Recycling facilities
Composting facilities
No red tape, simple, accessible government departments
In other words, a city that has the eight key aspects that define a Smart City: smart governance, smart energy, smart building, smart mobility, smart infrastructure, smart technology, smart healthcare and smart citizens.
