Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities which will be taken up for the first round of funding, for the financial year 2015-16.

Citizens and stakeholders of Coimbatore are requested to post their views and suggestions on how to make Coimbatore a Smart one. The citizens may organize their thoughts on the following topics

1. What should be the Vision of the Coimbatore
2. Strengths, areas of improvement & solutions across the following sectors

a. City Spatial Structure, Transportation and Green Spaces
b. Energy, Water, Waste Water and Environment
c. Housing, Health, Education, Security, Law and Order
d. Citizen Engagement, Smart Solutions and IT-led service delivery

I love Coimbatore for its nature beauty and being an environmental friendly city. Its cool climate and sweet and tasty Siruvani water is nature's gift to people of Coimbatore. Making this city as a Smart City is most welcome.. To me, a safe, healthy, convenient, and clean city is a Smart City.. For achieving this goal, city requires: 1. Fully functional online system for paying electricity bill, taxes, and other government systems 2. Providing healthcare to everyone at ease through e-health

latest infrastructure,all types of plays-grounds,clubs,all types of entertainment faci., etc,are unlimited,clean,dust-free,advance with high technology with online digital facilities for all types of services,There should be no deficit of any goods,items or services to people

People who give their valuable comments, please think in terms of Environment Friendly, Information and Communication Technology in public service, Energy efficiency, Solid waste management. These are some "smart" solutions for smart City

The bus route Map of the city has to be made an integral part of it and should long last for atleast 10 years by design and material.

Proper Bus stops shall built in accordance with Green Building Concept, powered by Solar energy. These must be designed to protect people from both Sun heat radiation and heavy Rainfall.

Bus Stops are to be integrated with one another in a particular bus route along with the buses by sensors and suitable technology. So that a person in one stop can know where the bus is coming now for which he is waiting for. This can be displayed in LED board.

Opinion giving, grievance registering and solving mechanisms for each seperate projects. A special team shall be made for this and strong norms to be made. Also progress of each project is to be updated.

All Smart City projects that are to be proposed, implemented, and maintained shall be put in a Single seperate special website
