The NITI Aayog-led Shoonya campaign, in partnership with MyGov India, is thrilled to announce the electric vehicles Townhall, an open discussion platform for citizens to share valuable ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India. The Townhall focuses on electric vehicles (EVs) and their associated advantages, including cost savings, clean air, health benefits, and emission reduction.

In line with this initiative, NITI Aayog in collaboration with MyGov, invites input from citizens.

Why we need to go to a bank for loan? Government can disburse loan to the youth for their startups and usages of electric vehicles. Banks are having their own business. How would they trust everyone reaching to them? So, the bankers simply try to deny any disbursement of loan to anyone. Government has to make it easy for individuals to get the loan. Also, our interest rates are high. If the students of science and engineering collages would get loans through any easy scheme, we would make miracles in the field of electric vehicles.

According to me, these can be some beneficial steps: 1. Creating awareness for it's use. Though people are in favour of buying electric vehicles, but they are often confuse about- "How to use?" 2. Making people aware about the electric vehicles. Many people either in village or in towns are unaware of their availability. For them, exist the petroleum vehicles only. 3. Charging availability. It can boost up the rate in favour of electric vehicles. 4. Discount. People attracts discount items. It can help in achieving sustainable path. 5. Second/Third hands. Second or third hand vehicles can made available at cheaper rates so as to encourage financial backward people to take a step forward. 6. Encouraging youth to take a look on the new vehicles and also telling to further spread this news.

Charging stations and points: Charging is a fundamental requirement for any EV. Currently, the biggest barrier preventing people from switching to EVs is the lack of charging facilities. City design should include consideration for EV charging stations. Highways, residential & business hubs, and public spaces must all have charging stations installed.

Electric Vehicles (EVs) have become a competitive option to fossil fuel-powered vehicles in recent years. EVs are essential to creating a greener future because of their remarkably small environmental impact. Although the use of EVs is steadily growing, a significant barrier to their widespread use is the lack of a supporting infrastructure. Since all diesel and gasoline vehicles will eventually be replaced by EVs, it is crucial for urban planners to design cities that can accommodate these cars.

o make cities smarter and more sustainable, urban planners are continuously introducing new innovations in city planning. In the modern world, sustainability is the ultimate criterion for any effective endeavor. The fundamental traits of any smart city are environmental preservation and a decrease in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. While there are many factors that contribute to pollution and GHG emissions in cities, fossil fuel-powered cars may be the most important one. The single most crucial move towards environmental conservation may be to lessen our reliance on fossil fuels.

Even though battery technology is steadily improving and extending the maximum range of electric cars, that alone will not be enough to meet all drivers’ needs and achieve rapid emissions reductions. So, addressing the range issue through infrastructure is essential, Trancik says. The highest-capacity batteries tend to be the most expensive, and are not affordable to many, she points out, so getting infrastructure right is also important from an equity perspective.

Convenient and affordable publicly accessible chargers will be increasingly important as EVs scale up. To help address this, governments have provided support for EV charging infrastructure through measures such as direct investment to install publicly accessible chargers or incentives for EV owners to install charging points at home. In some places building codes may require new construction or substantial remodels to include charging points, for example in apartment blocks and retail establishments.
