Shivamogga City Corporation, Shivamogga in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. Shivamogga City is the head quarter of malnad region located on the Western Ghats. Mainly Shivamogga City is known for its culture, education and commerce.

Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga has to submit a Smart City Proposal (SCP) to the Ministry of Urban Development, GOI which shall outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders unfolding the aspiration of people matched with the vision contained in the smart city proposal.

After first round of consultation and with the result of citizen aspirations we are uploading the main features of the proposal for citizen views. The residents are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to the proposal.

Pre-paid auto service at Railway station and Bus-stand to be set up. City buses to be expanded to all areas, especially to new extensions. Introduce Govt. city bus services also. Night beat/patrolling in all areas by police to be taken up daily. Public paid toilets in all extensions necessary. Conserve the available ponds/lake and develop them, ex: Navule lake.

1- make 1 (one )big dustbin in every ward for 20-25 houses for home wasteges. 2- every park should be full of greenry either park or small or big. 3- every street and mohalla is fully coverd by cameras. 4- atleast one policeman apoint for one mohalla for safety. 5- we addvertise for our local historical places and safe also. 6- 5-

In Shimoga, there are many casting industries supplies castings, not only for the automotive industry, but also for a number of other industries including farming machines, machining tools.
