I want to ask a question from everyone especially admin that Is it possible to promote fabrics of our country in this era of Liberalisation,Privatisation & Globalisation??? If Government is importing fabrics from foreign countries, establishing MNCs with lots of promotion through advertisements and people are very much influenced by this commercialisation, how is it possible to promote the small cottage industry in India with lack of resources being provided to our peasants.we need to discuss.

Maybe, if the Sarkar could make sure that middlemen don't exploit the poor handloom workers and cheat common people by not offering the government's 25% discount during festival seasons, it could be a beginning. Middlemen buy straight from handloom workers (sometimes through bogus cooperative societies) and sell the stuff in their own private shops without offering any seasonal discount. The poor handloom workers, especially women workers, are at the receiving end of it all.

It's very encouraging to know that Tantuja sarees will be available on flipkart.com. Similarly, snapdeal, paytm, amazon should be asked to sell the handicfats from rural areas. Govt must make it compulsory. Online stores can supply items which are made in remote parts of villages to sell them in India and abroad. Our craftsman and cottage industry will benefit.

When we compare to any of the country globally, Indian fabric lack behind in terms of quality and price. What is needed is to have the common portal wherein the buyers and sellers are registered under a single page. The specifications and price point set by the buyer will be visible to all registered under it. And in turn they can offer what all fabrics they have to offer against this demand.
As world have shrunk due to digital revolution, thus we shouldn't lag behind and make optimum use of it.

Dubai / UAE will host the 2020 expo after 5 years .This expo is considered to be the biggest event in the world related to imports/exports and the event will be for six month/180 days. Hope India will plan in advance and keep special rates for flights , special visa , few big airports in focus at indian cities and special zone for manufacturing in India. India can become a manufacturing HUB and Dubai the trading HUB between eastern and western world.
