India’s Handloom sector is a symbol of our glorious cultural heritage and is an important source of livelihood in the country.

The first National Handloom Day was held on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On this day, the handloom weaving community is honoured and their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country is highlighted, and the resolve to protect our handloom heritage and to empower the handloom weavers and workers with greater opportunities is reaffirmed.

Let us, together, ensure the sustainable development of the handloom sector by supporting our handloom weavers and workers for their exquisite craftsmanship.

As we approach National Handloom Day, we invite you to come forward & support the Handloom weavers/artists by sharing your photos or videos wearing or using Handloom products. The best pictures and videos will get featured at MyGov – the world’s biggest citizen engagement platform.

"राष्ट्रीय हस्तकरघा दिवस" की सभी को शुभकामनाएं जैसा कि आप सभी जानते हैं कि हमारे देश मे पहले जो कपड़े औऱ स्वदेसी वस्तुएँ बनाई जाती थी, आज उनकी अहमियत कही ना कही लुप्त होती जा रही हैं । लेक़िन ये एक प्रयास हैं आज के युवाओं को इस कला से रु-ब-रु करवाने का । आप सभी ने "खादी" का नाम तो सुना ही होगा, खादी एक बहुत ही अद्भुत कपड़ा हैं, जो आमतौर पर सभी की पसंद होती हैं। यह सर्दी में गर्म और गर्मी में ठंडा रहता हैं । यहॉ मैने(निजपरा) छोटा सा प्रयास किया हैं खादी पर रंगाई औऱ छपाई कर उसे एक नया रूप देने का ।

Support our rich traditions and cultural heritage of myriad handloom weaves that we are proudly producing in our great nation. It has been particularly difficult time for our artisans and weavers. They need your love and support. Pls come forward and buy hand made and handloom artifacts... the most natural and beautiful of all creations. Jai Hind!
