Stamps are generally collected by children. Many grow up and do not find ample time to continue their hobby. But never the less, they are emotionally attached to their stamp collection. Many fond childhood memories are associated with this hobby, of how you interacted with other stamp collectors, how you tried your best to find a particular stamp etc. Almost like looking at pictures of your own childhood photos, when you go back and open your old stamp collection, a sweet smile will automatically lighten up your face. Most stamp collectors not only accumulate stamps, but also enjoy arranging them in an attractive, organized way for easy viewing. Besides the fun aspect of this wonderful hobby, there is a monetary angle to it as well. Some rare stamps have a great market value. A stamp that you own now might fetch you a lot of money a few years down the line. That’s the reason why people look at stamp collecting as an investment.

Stamp collection is not only a habit but also a passion to to memorise our tradition, culture and other eminent personalities and famous places and monuments where and how they are interlinked with our life to recognise our nation India as the unique in world. It also motivates our next generation to progress ahead keeping our motto confined that we are the pride of our ancestors.

Interesting way to learn new things! Children are always encouraged to collect stamps as they get an opportunity to read up information about different countries, traditions, cultures, famous personalities, history, events, scientific inventions and more. Bookish knowledge is always boring and stamp collecting is a refreshing new way to learn new things. People who are engaged in collecting stamps are always curious by nature and are open to understanding new ideas or concepts. The urge of collecting stamps makes you feel like connecting with people from around the world. With the advent of technology and the boom of the web world, people can stay in touch with each other with merely a few clicks. By constantly being in touch with people from different countries you can make several pen friends, exchange information and gain in-depth knowledge about different cultures around the world. So basically, in the process of collecting stamps, you are making new friends.

Is this Q to build a obituary of stamps ? ignored for 75 years now documenting the history - stamp is dead , know why ! Not a bad intent but the manner reeks of gandy marji we, the maliks. Education Ministry can still use the stamps to teach history, geography and why that stamp was created. why was that person/occasion chosen over the many thousands ignored. The history of stamp itself . The colors, the cost, the size , contribution to economy of stamps . It is very easy and can be done at less than a pence now. even students can be encouraged to do it. The video /film should be available in all library /schools. with trailers. Student should be able to ask and get an answer , why none from my village feature in the stamps . what did our village do wrong that the other person got it right. what can my village /school do to feature in the stamps now . how long will the stamps be relevant now given post is almost obsolete. all about barcodes and digital payments.

Ulterior motive - bcoz it is Mullah narendramodi's passion or is it of/4/by we the maliks of India ? or the education ministry does not know how & y stamps were created in the 1st places. Never taught in syllabus . This is like asking How psychology helps in life ? would it not have been better framed and more encompassing, why hobbies and dangers Passion kills too. Any how what should a hobby do - help you focus your mind , learn & master the power of observation attention, focus detailing 4 active living. Not humiliate /insult others with different tastes as inferior. Yes it should be within means . Not burden on parents . demanding to purchase, asking space, lockers, bigger house place .If really interested Begin with visiting museums and writing notes & create videos Never compare. enjoy the process . It does not help living /career directly . Ask how many babus remember beyond basic 3Rs . derivatives, integrals , history . You master while working ,learning, teaching .

There are a million reasons why India is like a honey-pot for travellers who flock in from all over the world to experience something completely magical. It’s the vibrant kaleidoscope of traditions, history and cultures that makes India such a unique country which are also depicted on stamps of India. Even in rich diversity one gets to see oneness in the spirit of India. Several stamps have been released by India Post which signifies this beautiful aspect.

Many of these clubs can be found through web searches using the terms "stamps" and your collecting topic. Often when a club has members around the country, the only way for them to keep in touch with each other is through a magazine, newsletter, or bulletin. You may want to subscribe to a philatelic magazine that covers your interests. There are stamp journals which let you know what is going on in the field in general, and keep you up to date on new discoveries. There are stamp journals which are devoted to studying and describing stamps and covers.
