The strings of India's development have been inseparably attached to the success of its Textiles sector. The industry's symbiotic relationship with agriculture widens the range of beneficiaries.

•4.5 crore people are directly employed while another 6 crores are indirectly in this sector with a considerable stake of women and rural population.

•5% of the global trade in textiles and apparel is to India's credit.

•India's centuries-old knowledge and expertise in this sector have positioned it as the world's 2nd largest manufacturer and exporter with a 12% share in total exports (2018-19).

And now we, at the Textiles Ministry have our sights set on achieving global leader status for India. Government under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has been pushing for innovation and incentives to realise the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by bolstering exports, quality & productivity, competitiveness, technology up-gradation, research & development, and training & skill development in this industry.

Now, we are keen to listen to the suggestions of Industry experts, innovators, students, business leaders, and all other contributors to this sector to expedite our mission. As we mark the 75th year of India's Independence, we want you to have an increased stake in the success of the Textiles industry.

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th August 2021.

Respected PM JI, I wish you a Happy Independence Day 15 August 2021. Textile Industries are good but Government has to save industries when they are facing difficulties some industry are well developed and sometimes they struggle with initial financial problems to run industry at that time our Indian government has to recover them with financial support to run again instead of idle. For people who do business not only in shops you have to encourage people home done business too by giving loans

This is very funny but true the most rich people of India , IPS , IS , Ministers who all are talking about the nation our first priority , they usually buy their clothes from expensive foreign brands which is totally stupidiest, as you are directly taking salaries from Indian govt and then flush it out in foreigners pots. So, I think our formal dress should be of khadi or silk so it should be compulsory for all the central staff. So, that it become fashion or comes fastly in trend.

Human resources in the textile sector are being wasted in India. Labor of contract workers and female workers is ignored. Most of the workers work in different shifts and are unable to pursue further education. The government should ensure that employees in this sector receive periodic promotions and sector-specific higher education. Recognition for workers' work experience and skill development will lead to better promotions
