Tribal development forms the foundation for the economic growth of a nation which carries with it a substantial portion of the tribal population. Supporting the native tradition is the key to building a strong community and a healthy economy. With 8% of the population of India belonging to the Scheduled Tribe it becomes critical for the government to safeguard their interest and promote their livelihood. TRIFED the Government of India established organization, supported by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has been a security net for the tribes across the nation for over 30 years now. It has taken several initiatives for socio-economic welfare and empowerment of tribal communities through capability building, marketing, distribution, packaging, and other supporting activities.

Inhabiting the remotest parts of the country and being reserved, poses several problems for the community as well as the government in assisting their growth

• Dwelling in the Natural Habitat they carry a wealth of knowledge in plants, forest produces as well as ancient herbs, which is tantamount to that of an expert. With efficient support, this can be developed further to generate significant income for the community
• There has been an increase in the rate of unemployment among schedule tribes in the past few years owing to the lack of connection to the mainstream market
• Despite having been given reservations by the central government, residing in rural areas have posed difficulty for them in making the most of the benefits offered
• Members of the tribal community have made noteworthy contributions to the nation right from our struggle for freedom to the field of Healthcare, Education, and Technology. This shows that the community holds the potential to thrive under proper guidance

Taking the aforesaid points into consideration, TRIFED has committed itself to ensuring the all-around welfare of the Indian tribes. This is not limited to just inculcating entrepreneurial skills among them or having built an exclusive brand “Tribes India” for them but extends to establishing Van DhanKendras, providing awareness about vaccination for Covid, providing vocational training, and organizing Trade Fairs on a massive scale. The recent decision to observe the 15th November-the birth anniversary of tribal icon BirsaMunda as “Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas” is praiseworthy and TRIFED would unveil The National Tribal Festival “Aadi Mahotsav” on the following day to commemorate it. This festival is not only a platform for the tribal artisans to showcase their valuable skills but the revenue that it generates for the community is of utmost significance.

TRIFED under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi has been constantly pushing and coming up with reformed measures to realize the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat by improving the quality of tribal produce, providing technological up-gradation, assisting in research & development and is now keen to see the suggestions of field experts, students, business leaders, social activists, subject-matter experts and all the contributors to this field in order to expedite its mission of economic development of Tribals.

As we mark the 75th year of India’s Independence we want you to have a greater stake in revolutionizing the tribal economy.

Honourable prime minister, as i know that you are comming to Himachal pradesh. i am from Baijnath as you know that Baijnath is known as Baidynath because of Shiv temple and also a upcoming tourist place because of paragliding. but there is no any other activity or any type of sites for tourists where they can pass there time. some of the possibilities are there like a man made lake near paragliding landing site.because there is a river near landing site it is approx. 400meters distance and 200 kanals forest land near bye so if any water park or some activity centre like shoping mall, cinema or a park will give the job opportunities for local peoples who are doing there jobs out of state in normal sallarries.as my knowledge bir is under sada (special area development authority) they are taking the taxes from cars and from paragliding pilots but the collected funds are not utilize for development of Bir.

Developing the tribal economy will be dependent on the tribal development policy and governance. I observed that majority of tribal representatives are half-literate about the development of their own community. It is also observed as the tribal populace is under the problem of education and information use due to their location and inhibition, the government funds and policy can not maximise their welfare. The representatives channelise the fund for development for their own well-being not for collective welfare. In other words, the rampant corruption in the name of people's representation by the representatives needs somewhere stoppage. The Innovative support policy for tribal development, in addition to education and HRD, and markets can help directly with tribal development. Like banking ombudsmen, the government can innitiate the development ombudsmen system.

Support Tribal people to form self help groups and sell their products in online shopping platforms like Amazon, Flipkart etc. Government Agencies and NGOs can work as mediators for providing technical and logistics assistance.Should plan to make them self-reliant in the long run by turning them into techno-savvy.

Tribals traditionally have had an interest in forest conservation and development. Their economy, culture, and every other aspect of life is closely related to forests. They have a Holistic relationship with forests, tribals depends on the survival of the other. Over generations, they have built an enormous traditional knowledge base regarding forests and forest produces. Instead of giving importance to Woods in forest, high importance if given to forests crops and make one head among them for communication with the government will yield good results and economy will start from the scratch also everyone will be aware of everything. Like giving reservations to backward community in Education and Job opportunity, such thing to be given to them, it should not be just on paper, the same has to be implemented at a very high EMERGENCY CRITERIA. Like there is a saying : Coming together is a beginning Staying together is a progress And Working together is a Success...

Sir/Madam, Tribal products can be negotiated to be sold on Amazon India. Storage Warehouse can be built with use of local Government. Digital web site of Amazon, free delivery with Prime, credit/payment etc can become the foundation to this venture.
