Civil Services Day is organised on 21st April every year, when civil servants re-dedicate themselves to the cause of the citizens and renew their commitment to public services. The 9th Civil Services Day in the series is being organized on 20-21st April,2015 at Vigyan Bhavan New Delhi.

The objective of this Conference is to discuss and deliberate on important aspects impinging on Civil Services, share lessons learned and exchange ideas. Inputs for the proposed Session on Housing Sector of the Conference are sought from civil servants and public at large on the following points:

1. A roof for each family in India – what are the challenges in reaching this goal?

2.Housing infrastructure: Infrastructural issues in housing sector - how to incorporate housing planning as an integral part of urban and panchayat planning.

3.Affordable housing:

-How do we coopt private sector in providing quality and affordable housing? PPP experience in India and other countries (Brazil)
-Housing finance – what are the main issues and policy solutions.
-Imperatives of urban housing – challenges of slums and low cost housing in urban/peri urban areas.

SIR,THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF"SLUM-KATRA"PROPERTIES SITUATED IN OLD DELHI AREA.THEY ARE 1947 PARTITION REFUGEES LIVING THERE FOR MORE THAN 65 YEARS .IT HAS BEEN WRITTEN IN THE"VISION-DOCUMENT 2015"OF BJP(PAGE-12) AND 12TH FIVE YEAR PLAN OF DELHI GOVT.TO GIVE THE OWNERSHIP RIGHTS TO THEM. THERE ARE MORE THAN 15000 FAMILIES LIVING THERE.MORE THAN 90% PEOPLE ARE POOR.THE VISION OF OUR RESPECTED PM TO GIVE HOME TO EVERYONE UP TO 2022,THIS WOULD BE A REMARKABLE STEP BY GIVING OWNERSHIP RIGHTS TO THEM.
