My daughter joined her 10 + 2 Course in KV Island Ground in 2012 and she was lured the first year with 'Only Girl Child' benefit. The next year the school instructed us to come with District Magistrate attested affidavit for making our claim and the cost of it to us is Rs1000/- (bribe of course). The overall benefit to us by this scheme can only be less than this amount and so on implementation this scheme benefits only Magistrates and not those like us who have planned our family

Therefore, they remain largely marginalized, poor and socially excluded.

Gender disparity manifests itself in various forms, the most obvious being the trend of continuously declining female ratio in the population in the last few decades. Social stereotyping and violence at the domestic and societal levels are some of the other manifestations. Discrimination against girl children, adolescent girls and women persists in parts of the country.

Since women security has become the big challenge for Govt., it can think on transfer/posting policy of its employees having girl child only. If there is no other male member and the Govt. servant is compelled to keep his family in home town, such transfer makes psychological effect on any daughter’s mind. Apart this, education is also suffered. Hence, the Govt. may think on a policy that a Govt. servant who has girl child should not be transferred out until his daughter completes her 12th class.
