The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

Mr Rakesh Swami has given a good point regarding LPG from cattle manure. Adding to this I would like to suggest that for the purpose of LPG used in industries, the production can be encouraged from the STP plants. One such plant is at Ramanthapur, Hyderabad. The existing plants or the new plants can be converted/based on gas basis.

Solar energy : If there is any surplus power generate by private player they should be means by which they can give extra power to the grid & there is transparency how much unit has been given. Grid can then loan the extra power to other states/ Nations like Bangladesh at cost.Manufacturer's has to make solar cells which should not get destroyed easily by minor pellet stone, winds etc. Solar energy has been limited for providing hot water not electricity.Enc Technology is poor, encourage start up.

I visited Nether lands where there is huge wind mill area nominated at sea which does not require land. People have invested & as per them they start getting benefits after 10yrs but they are happy that they are contributing to green energy, you can plan to give incentive & entire issue of investment has to be transparent. If there are fordging, deliberate attempt to seek investors money nothing will happen. Our biggest problem is our outlook for short gains, this has to change ?

For increasing the battery power of Electric car use the solar film panels on the top & bonnets of the car. It's mostly help to reduce the power charge. Think & try it.

Hello, Greetings! Indeed people are aware about solar energy and same time they are having information about subsidy provided. To stop subsidy OR have very transparent process for subsidy (direct to consumer bank account with valid proof of investment) will encourage people and boost usage of #solarenergy usage as #rooftop solar energy solution. uniform subsidy process all over country with complete online /transparent process OR no subsidy.

Small hydro electric turbo power generators can be designed to be installed in all high rise buildings to generate electricity through waste water flowing through drain outlets. Also, during monsoon good quantity of water flows through terraces of many buildings and the same can be used to tap electricity by installing small hydro turbo power generators. In a city like Mumbai daily about 30-40 mld water is used and we are losing a potential source of generation of hydro electricity.

An alternate way of producing electricity in a thermal power plant by burning garbages instead of coal. In a metro city like Chennai 4500 MT are being collected a day. If we are to burn this in a closed environment it would be an effective way of cleaning a city and producing necessary power. This reduces the exploitation of non-renewable resources like coal, which seems to be depleting at a alarming rate. This further provides employment, revenue and paving way for "CLEAN INDIA".

Our country has more than 500 million cattle which produce millions of ton manure everyday. Using small bio-gas plant we can provide clean gas for cooking every home. I am using bio gas from several years with no problem. This saves almost one domestic LPG cylinder with only 2 cattle every month plus good fertilizer for crops. I think implementation of small biomass energy plants will definitely reduce LPG imports and save foreign currency. Please think about encouraging people.
