Renewable sources are to be tapped with efficient technology. The use of wind, solar and geothermal plants needs to work efficiently.thus a hybrid version of solar and wind ,which is developed by NASA and marketed needs to be low priced . The solar panel system should emphasis upon efficient working of panels. T.Y.

Almost all the A,B, C catagory stations have huge demand of water and almost 70% of the used water is wasted after use. Recycling of the same to use as a non potable but for horticulture use may get down the demand of water in sectors other then railway or can be utilized in the townships run by railways and other public/private sectors after treatment. For this a firm system has to be designed for proper collection and discharge of water and its treatment.

-India should use more Nuclear energy in place of thermal/coal based energy. -Usage of Solar captive Power plants should be given impetus in terms of subsidies and availability of the resources. -India should strive to become part of NSG.

A Suggestion: In Mumbai local railway stations have potential to grow vertical. Let us say Santacruz. Have a vertical structure to house the vendors, On the top have Solar panels for energy generation, get water collected in rains for rain water harvesting. When we return home, we are required to buy home daily essentials. The structure should have all shops to cater to these needs. We can try asking the road side vendors to move in with nominal rates.Give it a try with any one station??

We have to utilize our railway stations as self energy producer stations. This can be done by utilizing roof top solar panel installations. As the railways are regularly changing the asbestos roof tops to aluminium colour coated sheets, instead of that some method has to be adopted to install glass sheets with embeded solar cells to produce enough energy to run the local demands of station. The glass top will also allow the natural lighting in day time.

Promote solar energy by bring down initial installation costs and removing all procedural impediments to such implementation. Individuals (unlike corporates), who are well informed of the benefits of solar energy and its usage, would not be in a position or have the time to interact with Government agencies or SEBs to install in their homes. This should be made online and transparent.

Grid connected solar rooftop is one of best initiative taken up by the govt. Many banks are offering loans. Can we have loan facilities for channel partners. For special category states subsidy is 70 % and channel partners have to wait for 3-6 months for subsidy after installation.
