Government of India announced the selected list of 20 cities which are to be taken up for development as smart cities in Round 1 of Smart city challenge. Unfortunately, Ranchi did not make to the top 20 cities which were selected for funding in the financial year 2015-16.

However, Ranchi has been provided second chance as it is nominated as one of the 23 Fast Track cities on the basis of the Smart City Proposal submitted in Round 1 under the Smart City Mission of the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India (GoI). A city is not smart until it manages its waste well. Waste management process should be decentralised and locality based, quick and real time. It is surprising to note that 70% of waste is organic in nature & can be reprocessed before it becomes waste or, thereafter, can be recycled in a sustainable manner. We have invented a Green Waste Reprocessor machine which re‐process all green reject and converts it into valuable by‐products. More details can be found on www.cleanindiatech.com #MyGov

e-Governance initiatives: The payments effected by all Government departments to its employees and vendors should be transferred only by NEFT/RTGS and all cheque payments should be discouraged/discontinued. This would not only save huge time and money but also bring about transparency and ease of doing business in India. The recent decision of waiver on transaction charges on Online payments was a highly commendable initiative. Great Going!!

In all the girls schools and colleges judo should be taught as a compulsory subject and females should be educated about their legal rights. If we really want to stop crime against women then these kinds of workshops should be arranged in all the colonies by NGOs.

Truely speaking, Ranchi needs to be cleaned up in every way. For example, the huge amount of air pollution due to illegal traffic/vehicle which polute most of the city. The public transport should firstly be running on CNG. Then comes the things like Rapid Transport System. It should also have self-sustained solar power grid which can be more efficient with the following consequences of less power cuts.
