It was observed that some strains of a Bacteria called Bdellovibrio bacteriovorous were naturally found in the river that were responsible for keeping ganga clean with a specific mechanism related to their ability to digest harmful bacteria and their growth curve. these are also being reported to be non harmful to human and infact are sometimes a part of our natural intestinal flora. Studies can be done in order to make this bacteria useful as natural remedies are slow but they are long lasting

MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO INITIALLY START WITH PURIFYING OR CLEANING A PORTION OF THE GANGA SAY A ONE SQUARE KILOMETER DISCUSS FOR JUST HAVING THE HOLY DIP BY INSTALLING WATER PURIFIER OR FILTER WITH IN THE NEXT 2 YEARS. THAT WAY THE CONFIDENCE IN THIS GOVT WILL INCREASE SO PEOPLE WILL START CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS CLEANING THE GANGA IN THE LONG RUM

I think there should be a regular routine checkup from the place of origin of ganga till the end. All budget should be used at the right place. I have a travel blog and I will write about this topic too. Visit my blog post. http://amazingindiablog.in/list-of-10-best-shopping-markets-in-delhi/

Parallel canal may be constructed along both sides of the Ganga,( 5 km away ) crossing all cities and falling into Bay of Bengal. All drainage system can be diverted to this canal and ultimately dirty water of cities will fall into this canal. Otherwise, a big tank(talaab) can be constructed outside city area so that drain can be routed to this tank (talaab) The surrounding mud should be able to absorb the dirty water. It will be easier process but dirty water in open place may emit bad smell.

We need such initiate such activity but again when more people will visit they will also throw food or other waste in water. So as a part of program penalty should be there for all those who do dirty not in terms of money bt to force them to clean twice they did dirty. This will teach them n others observing them

There is a need for promoting water transport in our country the usage of river in transport will help in cleaning of the rivers because this will require development of routes which will ensure more water in river all the time and commercial activities will bring revenue for the project

to avoid people directly going to river is it possible for the government to make some kunds big or small near by the basin so that people can take holy dip in that kund not in the river directly and supply the water from the river only and maintain the cleanness of the kund as well...
