Conventional education alone cannot meet the needs and aspiration of higher education. What proactive policies and strategies need to be devised and developed to encourage online education and overcome any implementation issues which are currently hindering its optimization? Also how can we strengthen ODL systems so as to ensure their quality and gain greater acceptability?

eduaction ministry should work closely with ministry of textiles, labor, industries etc. because WE DON'T WANT QUALIFIED UNEMPLOYED YOUTH. IT CREATES FRUSTATION. IIM AND IIT IN EVERY STATE IS NOT GOING TO SLOVE A PROBLEM....

online course through IIM and IIt will only increase degree holders, not sure about the quality in online course, you can't learn everything by just sitting on a computer, human behavior is much more complex. more degree holders leads to unemployment and low salary and even top institute will not be able to retain its positions. opening more iim and iit is not a good idea strengthen aleardy exists state /ut university. only educating people should not be our motto, employment sholud beconsidered

the programs like nptel is very good. you should make more programs like that not only for technical studies but also for other courses . BSNL or other ISP's shoould be forced to give cheaper packs which can be only to access these sites .

Only single apex education controlling authority like UGC should do: (1) Permanent Exam Centers (EC), which are owned & operated directly by UGC, @ 1 EC initially in each Region, afterwards in each District, afterwards in each Tehsil. (2) Any University / Board may offer On-Demand On-Line Examinations at any EC for any chosen suitable subject (3) Student from any University or Board may appear for On-Demand On-Line Examination for one or more chosen subject from above at any EC

AMIE is absolutely ridiculous since in BE/BTech, four years'laboratory & workshop experience together with professional and industrial training can never be achieved by AMIE. Professors with prescribed qualifications teach in Govt. recognized engineering colleges. AMIE students, usually, do not get such infrastructural facilities. AMIE people should never be teaching in engineering institutions since they don't have regular & professional training and standardized academics.

Govt should remove territorial restriction curbs for distance education. let people study from any recognized university across India through distance education. That way every one will have opportunity to choose and study in the best universities / Institution in the country and the syllabus of the different courses should be designed by Distance Education Council / DEB. so that it should be universally accepted by all AIU university.

Open and Distance Learning Courses are the most neglected areas of higher education. Imagine doing a full course of MBA with IGNOU for three years only to learn in the end that the course is not recognized by many of the government bodies itself in their recruitment process. People get fooled by taking such courses from IGNOU thinking that its a government recognized university and the courses can be managed along with their work or family life but then what is the purpose of doing such courses

MHRD and statutory bodies should think on degrees awarded on ODL system o consider at par with conventional degrees by bringing better guidelines to improve the quality of education in Arts, Science and Technology. Apart, there should be special options for working professionals to upgrade the knowledge and respective degrees in Technology field too as they cannot go for any regular mode of learning. Otherwise the purpose of higher education system will not be inline to the today's age.

To Promote Distance Learning and online courses we need to improve the quality of these courses so that Full time & distance learning courses gets equal importance because many organisations not allows the distance learning candidates to apply for jobs. ODL & online courses are better for those who can't afford for higher fees of courses or working people. There should be national eligibility test for every courses which gives equal importance to all courses & improve quality of education.
