Prenatal screening to the mothers , adequate dietary supplementation, vaccinations to both mother and neonate (IAP),insisting institutional delivery where sterile technique of labor is conducted . Wat govt can do is , if possible can patients get free ultrasound investigation . many poor ppl they don't even do one USG , not to blame its expensive too in private hospitals .

Each rupee spent on educating masses will bring maximum returns much more than any thing else.
So spend 1% of GDP and start health education ministry & teach staying healthy.[Most including doctors live unhealthy & sick & die young].This improves health of entire country. That includes children. India has 400 medical colleges.Ask them to do the needful to educate masses.Government’s medical education department runs on people’s money. It does nothing to teach people.Ask it to teach people.

It should be in all possible Indian languages.India has 30 lanuages spoken by a million people,1652 dilects.TO reach all, use them all.
