The objective of the Group is to brainstorm and invite considered views of all stakeholders in Chemicals & Petrochemical sector that include polymers, plastics, synthetic rubber basic Chemicals, pesticide, dyes etc. The sector is touching the lives of each and every member of the society. This sector has tremendous potential of growth vis a vis the contribution of this sector in the world economy, especially in the manufacturing sector in developed countries. The sector also offers employment opportunities for a large population.

As the sector is already liberalized, which has also resulted in a rapid increase in imports, there is a need to review this situation and to promote domestic manufacturing by attracting large investments and providing facilitative policy regime. At the same time, sustainability and environment friendliness of the industries in this sector also has to be ensured as an initiative as part of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign of the new government.

Comments and views are invited from the stakeholder at large.

There are several sectors in Chemicals wherein there is imports. we can create manufacturing facilities here to manufacture those chemicals and not depend on rest of world. I due time we can become net exporter of those chemicals. If required I am ready to work identifying those areas and chemicals.

Chemical factories are to be made run properly without any politicians interventions ; Puducherry Government is not helping the industries to grow ; so they loss the revenue always . The Central Government should compel the Puducherry Government to assist the industries to raise the production activities and to increase the no. of industries in the Union Territory. As they get funds from the Central Government for the freebies, they don't bother about the industrial growth & Infrastructure.

Common man - Middle class people need more financial assistance. The salary what they earn is not able to fulfill his day-to-day needs. The ceiling of income tax limit should be raised more to attain this.

I am a pharmaceutical scientist and an Academician by profession. The pharmacy Education in our country has multiple regulatory bodies. Amongst the NIPER institutions of Govt of India only one of them (Mohali) is completely functional. The Under Graduate(B.Pharmacy) and Post graduate Pharmacy Educational (M.Pharmacy) Institutions have mushroomed and need an effective single regulatory body for Academic quality control for meeting the expectations of Pharmaceutical Industry and the profession.

Companies in India are exploiting employees.Officially you are hired for 45 hours a week or 5 days working. But they are making it more than 60 hours.Calling employees on Saturday,Sunday and even on public holidays.Even not giving leaves for voting on Polling day. Government look into the matter. Forgein companies are sucking bloods and even not providing necessary safety specially in Pharma and chemical companies.Even they are not bother about environment.
