Road Congestion and mounting Traffic Jam. Addressing the urgent need to tackle the mounting traffic congestion on our roads, resulting in traffic jams. As we witness on a daily basis, one of the primary causes of traffic congestion is the haphazard parking of vehicles by shoppers along the roadside. This problem arises because shop owners fail to provide adequate parking spaces for their customers, forcing them to park their vehicles on the roads. Even in towns where parking facilities exist, they are often only beneficial to shop owners and not to the shoppers themselves. To address this issue, it is crucial for the government to promote the concept of shop owners reserving ground floor parking for their customers, while conducting their business activities on the upper floors. Incentives or legislative support from the government should be provided to encourage and facilitate this initiative. Hope UT govt of Jammu and Kashmir do consider..
