The Municipal Corporation Tirupati is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected under Round 2 for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). Round 2 of smart cities challenge is been provided to 54 cities to upgrade their proposals whose city is not covered in the list of 20. Tirupati is one of them! In this phase, our city has to compete with 54 other cities, enhance our proposal and become eligible for funding in 2016-17.

The city needs to refine its vision, strategic focus, mission and a proposal based upon Gap assessment and suggestions received from panel of expert and MoUD. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Tirupati a smart city! Read the Draft Smart City Proposal

Improved mobility Travel is as fast, efficient and safe as possible. Traffic lights are optimized to eliminate structural traffic problems. Or to find the best compromise to allow streetcars to pass with minimum delays for auto traffic.

Minor but Major Concern- -Street Lighting -Proper collection and disposal of waste & bringing awareness among the people on the same issue -Carry bags should be, if possible banned in the city limits completely -Drinking water facilities in all circles of the city -Induction of Biological Public Toilets in as many areas as necessary -Parks have been already inducted properly in the city. So,their maintenance should be your concern. -More Importantly,encouraging citizens to step in.

When it comes to optimizing transportation operations, the goal is to make sure the optimization takes place across all modes, in or near real time depending on circumstances.
