Online authentication using Aadhaar, which is already being offered as an authentication mechanism by UIDAI, can be made seamless if mobile numbers of individuals are linked to their Aadhaar numbers. This would do away with users providing Aadhaar number for every transaction as their mobile numbers would represent their Aadhaar number.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome on the Concept Paper on how mobile phones and Aadhaar could be linked so that mobile phones can be used as instruments for online electronic authentication of individuals’ identities.

The suggestions may include technical architecture and solutions, Use Cases, policy guidelines, process improvements, implementation mechanisms, etc.

The last date for submission of your comments is 12th February, 2015.

sir when we talk of digital india then off course mobiles can become a handy tool in the implementation of it,but again there comes the problem of providing a platform which can be accessed by the layman people and for this there should be a govt plan to expedite the process of computer literacy and off course mobile numbers can act as identity of the people if a more detailed process of acquiring the mobile numbers is followed which include a thorough back ground check.

Make government process transparent. I would like to mention the words of Tim Berners Lee "Greater openness, accountability and transparency in Government will give people greater choice and make it easier for individuals to get more directly involved in issues that matter to them." Digitize government process but, goal should be get serve the people by government officials, set service level agreements, For exp. digitize file process with an SLA of take action in 5 days, forward or reject.
