Meerut a Historical city well known for 1857 freedom struggle. A second largest cantonment, centre for manufacturing export quality sports goods, musical instruments, scissors, jewellery making and impressive hub of printing press and power looms. A city of highly reputed educational institutes, universities, engineering colleges and health facilities.
Meerut being located in NCR region provides great opportunity for construction industries and a very rich source of highly skilled, semi-skilled human resource, a big distribution centre for agriculture produce, these all provide a great potential in economical development and high level of living standard. Meerut has a great potential to become a smart city in real sense.
Meerut has been selected under “Smart City Round -2” All citizens of Meerut are requested kindly to participate actively in all citizens’ engagement process so that a right place of Meerut the goal of smart city is achieved
Nagar Nigam Meerut invites all its citizens to participate and give their innovative ideas to become Meerut Smart City. Citizen & stakeholders are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to the proposal till 25th June 2016.

Meerut is a historic city but it had not given its full recognition and respect sofar even after 68 years of independence might be due to the steply behavior by the state governments.After it bocomed smart city there is possibility to get proper development of meerut

meerut have many bad things like worse house,the place where cows are killed etc.if meerut became smart city I am sure that the things which are happen in our city will not happen in future

First and foremost point is security and electricity. Second is cleanliness. I am from meenakshipuram and the enterance is pathetic. Please help in getting it cleaned and please take suitable action for security and electricity so that people could go out of their home with a feeling of safety. Mr. Modi Sir, please a humble request to you to take necessary action ASAP. Further Meerut must be included in NCR to improve international business approach. As Meerut has a lot of potential.

I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THE PM OF INDIA TO MAKE MEERUT SMART CITY... BECAUSE THE LAW & ORDER HERE IS VERY BAD, TRAFFIC SYSTEM NOT GOOD, ROADS ARE REALLY VERY BAD, THE CITY NEEDS AIRPORT TOO FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY.. A GOOD EXPRESS HIGHWAY FROM MEERUT TO NEW DELHI ALSO NEEDED...

I would like to request Mr modi meerut is near by of Delhi NCR so it's our right we will live in smarat city not in village & population of merrut is more than 1 lac obviously it will come in samart city. Plz mr modi sir hamari sarkar toh khuch kr nhi payi hamare liye toh aap(BJP) hi khuch kr do hamare liye yha bhut gandi rajneeti hoti h gunda gardi bhut h

Traffic system should be upgraded. police should do their work effectively. Drainage system of the city is very poor it should be maintained seriously and effectively
