Meerut a Historical city well known for 1857 freedom struggle. A second largest cantonment, centre for manufacturing export quality sports goods, musical instruments, scissors, jewellery making and impressive hub of printing press and power looms. A city of highly reputed educational institutes, universities, engineering colleges and health facilities.
Meerut being located in NCR region provides great opportunity for construction industries and a very rich source of highly skilled, semi-skilled human resource, a big distribution centre for agriculture produce, these all provide a great potential in economical development and high level of living standard. Meerut has a great potential to become a smart city in real sense.
Meerut has been selected under “Smart City Round -2” All citizens of Meerut are requested kindly to participate actively in all citizens’ engagement process so that a right place of Meerut the goal of smart city is achieved
Nagar Nigam Meerut invites all its citizens to participate and give their innovative ideas to become Meerut Smart City. Citizen & stakeholders are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to the proposal till 25th June 2016.

meerut is near to delhi so it is also a big reason that meerut should be smart city coz near capital of india the region near capital of india should also be smart

metro like delhi should also be improvised in meerut and eletric wires should be underground number of parks also be increased

meerut is really a nice city it should be smart city there is some need to improve the conditions of traffic crime etc and these problems could be solved being a smart city

meerut is a most historical place in west u.p. it must make smart city because it have many reasons to make smart city like kranti dhara, center of west up, historical place, sports industry, handloom, asea's no. one jwellery market, sceicers market, plastic industris, mela nauchandi, sugar industries, paper mills. so there is most reason to make smart city against raibarelly. it must make place in second level of smart cities.

As all we know that Meerut is Historical place and well known on Indian Map , its been famous for sports Goods , Musical instruments , Gajak&Revri, There is no comparison between Rai bareily& Meerut , Meerut is Far Better than it so my request is please Give Priority to Meerut for Smart city.

All government employees & politicians should do the duties as per their job allotment. The city will automatically become smart if they start performing duties & try to implement the law in Indian constitution. Number of laws made in India are not suitable to each category. The laws should be made flexible according to the community living in that area so that they can enjoy better living. We are a country with a very big population which should be taken in mind to control.
