The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

Last date of sending us your inputs is 21st August 2020

I think we can skip these few months and start the new academic year from January to December. This will surely bring relief to students, parents. Let the online studies be as they are. Let the society prepare the children to live with this virus. And by that time we can get a proper vaccine or cure to fight against the pandamic.

Namaste Everyone, The pandemic of covid-19 has shaken the mankind. Students are not able to go to school, colleges. Students are getting bored😑 at home. But staying home is not bad. We can develop some good things. We all are having internet, we can use YouTube▶️ and learn many good things like how to draw, dance and many more. so, we can make our mind busy in these things. And can live happy life.

1.All the parents should understand their children in a very well manner from their children's level of perception . 2.As this is the era of digitalisation though we all are suffering from pandemic but still through mobile phones, laptop their children can easily access their study materials . 3.First parents should understand that education is very imporatant then only they can provide electronic device to their children . 4.There are very free online platforms though they are unable to afford.

Ye sach hai ki ghar kabhi bhi school nahin ban sakta hai par hume classroom ki tarah environment toh create kar sakte hai Ye ek team work hai, jisme sabhi parents, students, teachers ko milkar kaam karna hai ek doosre se understanding banana, aur help karna hai Parents ka sapna: uska baccha bada officer bane Students ka sapna: parents ka naam roshan kare Teachers ka sapna: students desh ka naam roshan kare Hum sabko stress nahin lena hai, Balki Corona se ladna hai, aur uska harana hai.

Family Time: The silver lining to lockdown is that it has given us a unique opportunity to spend time with our children, one we may not ever get again. Games are a good way for all to spend time together. Games like Pictionary, Scrabble and charades can be fun for children of various ages to participate in. Another way to keep your children engaged is to keep them occupied in the kitchen with interesting recipes, different cooking methods, nutritional value etc. Food is something we all enjoy.

Managing your own stress: Children tend to model the behaviour of their parents. And so stressed parents will result in a stressed child. Try and keep the home environment stress free, nurturing and calm. The house should be a safe place for your child. Expressing stress, fear, or anxiety in front of children will only cause them to pick it up. Since children have an underdeveloped frontal cortex their interpretation of the stress can be very different from what was said and can manifest in diff

Make a list of your achievements. Write the story of the happiest moments of your life. Stay connected with the loved ones. Remember, it's not permanent. Pray for the best days to come. Appreciate your best qualities. Improve yourself each day.

Students must stay at home and do self-study. Time has provided us a big opportunity in the form of Corona. For e.g., we can do many things at home like helping our parents, we can spend time with our grandparents, we can do experiments at home, etc. It is a very good period for those who want to appear in jee/neet exams. We can prepare ourselve for scholarship exams. BE POSITIVE at home.
