We don't have enough and good ports. Most of small but important countries like France,Germany,Norway,Spain and Italy put more interest for development of tourist destinations. These countries have organised structure even they don't have enough historical or geographical places. The most important is they have well built PORTS so they can embark and disembark thousands of tourists on daily basis & cruise ships co. play key role. Tourism through coast would be best thing for tourism in India.

India has the best tourist destinations in the world.We have the best beaches and the best hill stations like Munnar and many others.All these have great potential to become world famous and provide big employment opportunities to the localites.Govt should market these locations well,have a website dedicated to the locations,update the way to reach them,dos and donts in each.They should also have package tours.Most importantly they should ensure cleanliness of locations and security of tourists.

Pilgrimage Tourism (Continued): At the Temples / worship places crowd management is important. For Lodging all the lodges can have a single website where one can fine all the available lodging at that pilgrimage place & book as per the requirement. This pattern can be replicated at all the other places. Most importantly Plastic should be banned at these places & there should be huge no of dustbins. At arrival points volunteers to appeal people for cooperation for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

India has huge potential for tourism . It can be classified in broadly two categories 1. Pilgrimage tourism 2. Entertainment tourism . 1.Pilgrimage tourism : Here basically we deal with huge crowds & the requirements are different. We need to provide the basic sanitation, lot of lodging place , and discipline. Here I think some separate body should be formed for managing crowd. Transportation to he pilgrimage place & hence huge parking lots. Need to stop here due to space constraint.

In order to attract foreign tourists, my suggestions are: Rivers should host RAFTING facilities and WATERFALLs should be made safer, cleaner and beautiful by adding fences and natural greenery. Resorts can be created whereby tourists can stay overnight and do sightseeing, birdwatching and photography. Paragliding & CableCars be implemented in hilly areas. Unique geological structures be harnessed & made national heritage site. One compulsory health & safety centre at each site for emergency

We can only make it more popular if we have proper transport facilities, roads etc. I am from haridwar and i think it is one of the most popular places here in north. But the connecting highway from New delhi to haridwar till dehradun is worst i have seen. Distance of 200 kms takes around 6hrs. Roads are the basic requirement. Everything else can be developed easily if you have better roads. Even ambulance dont reach in time here.
