Please speak with the students of Sardar Patel International School of Textile Management http://svpistm.ac.in/ . The PGDM program by this college isn't at par of an MBA and neither does it have significant Industry recognition. We need a strong educational structure in Textile domain if the govt is serious on promoting the industry.

textiles is a major sector of mass employment. but public sector banks dont give them financial support. once produced, the craftsmen has to surrender to multi-layered middlemen network. unless all middlemen (including multiple government bodies working in different directions and often at cross purposes) from producer to consumer, are removed, it is not possible to give remuneration to workers in this sector. After one year, we are losing hope that Modiji will reform the govt machinery.

Sir, special incentives for production of khadi should be continued with technological support for manufacturing mixed / polymerised khadi which can be used for designer wear. Cotton is the fabric for a tropical country like ours and hence emphasis should be placed on increasing production, improving quality and design, export of finished cotton wear. Power & water needs of looms, design input, training, dye waste disposal & trade facilitation should be attended to. E-retailing should be started

Sir, the interest shown in instituting SITP's is praise worthy, especially in the NE and other states. Thrust should be given to GI tags for traditional weaves for getting global accreditation & for quality control, which in turn will increase sales. Almost all big states have various traditional silks which should be promoted with the help of well established designers & efforts made to get foreign design studios to set up units here for manufacturing.

Sir, Please launch a health insurance scheme for the labourers/employees of closed textile mills. Earlier these workforce were covered under the ESIC, but after the closure of textile mills, there is no scheme for them. 2. A policy has to be formulated/implemented for cotton growing farmers for boosting quality cotton crop. The Kisan channel can play a vital role. 3. New textile mills must be established with latest technology having proximity to the land of BLACK SOIL.
