As part of the Government of India’s vision for Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to actively participate in the initiative themed “Role of Tribal Communities in Viksit Bharat”. This initiative aims to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of India’s tribal communities in shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and progressive nation.

Participants are encouraged to share their ideas, suggestions, and perspectives on how tribal knowledge systems, cultural heritage, sustainable practices, and community-led models can serve as guiding forces in India’s socio-economic, cultural, and environmental development.

Discussion is open to all Indian citizens. Selected ideas may be featured in national publications, exhibitions, and included in policy-level discussions.

My third suggestion is to develop a program that enables senior citizens to settle with tribal communities or in forest areas, aligning with the Vedic concept of Vanaprastha. Insights from the Tripura ELEMENT project suggest that if we create well-planned transit pathways and provide basic facilities for seniors in these areas, many would choose to spend their later years there—and their families would likely follow. The core idea is to empower tribal communities by integrating them with elders who carry wisdom and life experience. This intergenerational bond can help improve governance at the grassroots level and bring a positive transformation in tribal life.

Normalisation in india

" भारत में सामान्यीकरण "

किसी भी देश की अर्थव्यवस्था में सामान्यीकरण होने का समय तब आता है जब व्यवहार में व्यवस्थित समाज बनता है ।

My second suggestion is to establish a Tribal University dedicated to children from tribal communities across Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. If the curriculum is developed in their native languages, these children perform exceptionally well—I have personally observed this. A good example is the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Bhubaneswar, which has achieved remarkable outcomes. Our respected Tribal Affairs Minister, who hails from Odisha and belongs to a tribal community, would likely understand and support this recommendation, given his familiarity with the region and its needs.

The SHG movement is key to large-scale community engagement. While NRLM-SRLM has built a solid platform, there is a pressing need to upskill staff for new economic projects aligned with India’s $30 trillion vision for 2047. In tribal areas, language and cultural barriers limit SRLM’s acceptance—hence, training and paying local leaders is critical. Success has been better where the Centre has stronger control, while state-level integrity and implementation issues persist. A national-level discussion in Delhi is essential to bring systemic change and ensure real progress.

1. Cultural and Environmental Conservation
Tribal communities play a vital role in preserving forests, biodiversity, water bodies, and the local environment. Their traditional knowledge and environmental craftsmanship—such as mixed farming, clean water practices, sustainable resource use, and biodiversity conservation—are more than just traditions; they are development models.

Example: In the Pachgaon tribal village, the residents have achieved notable economic and environmental progress by establishing a waste-free initiative within the bamboo forest under their autonomous rights.

2. Educational and Socio-Religious Progress
The government has implemented schemes like Eklavya Model Residential Schools, PM-JANMAN, and Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana to provide better education, housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities to tribal children.
