To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until June 22, 2023.

Practical and Viva exams must be checked by seperate team of Professionals through a video recording. If students think that the marks awarded are not proper, they must be given a chance to request for re checking their Practical or Viva exam by a different team. Especially in Medical field Viva External examiners are behaving like sadists and torturing students mentally. Internal examiners are awarding marks with favouritism. They are even asking money from students to give pass marks. So overall results are achieved not by the students talent. If a video is recorded and saved, it helps students and examiners too. Students can be saved from toxic behaviour of the examiners. Healthy environment is created between teaching professionals and students without any partiality or favouritism.

There should not be any pass or fail system from the Primary level. Many students who cannot cope with the requirements get dripped themselves or discouraged by their parents especially at the lower strata, and ask them to help in the job of parents. Till 10th Standard only grading system to be followed and no one should be detained. For example if a student gets above 80% marks he can marked A+, 60% to 80% as,A, 40 to 60%ssB and below 40 as C. One can prove to be better or best at any stage. This will prevent dropouts and exam tensions.
